(LENOX, Mass.) – Cranwell Resort, Spa and Golf Club announced the appointment of Tanya Matthews to the position of Wedding Sales Executive. Matthews will be responsible for the sales and coordination of year-round weddings and social events at Cranwell Resort.

Bringing more than 16 years of catering and sales experience, Matthews has served in various senior operations and sales positions throughout the country. Her most recent hospitality experience was as director of catering and conference services at the Five Star Sandpearl Resort in Clearwater Beach, Fla.

Matthews has also directed catering at Innisbrook Resort and Golf Club in Palm Harbor, Fla., the Embassy Suites, in Denver, Co., and the Blue Hill Country Club in Canton, Mass.

Matthews detailed and executed events for visits by President George Bush and Vice President Dick Cheney while at the Renaissance Hotel in Cleveland, Ohio. During her tenure there, she received Marriott International’s President’s Choice Award and the Golden Globe Award.

Matthews comes to Cranwell Resort from the Albany County Convention and Visitors Bureau, where she was responsible for association sales and generating new meeting and conference business.
