Berkshire Co-op Launches New Workshop Series with Local Cooking Author

Alana Chernila

(GREAT BARRINGTON, Mass.) – In a new collaboration with Berkshire Co-op Market, Alana Chernila, author of The Homemade Pantry: 101 Foods You Can Stop Buying & Start Making, will offer kitchen and cooking workshops. The Homemade Pantry Workshop Series will take place the first Thursday of each month at Berkshire South Regional Community Center from 6 to 8pm.

In The Homemade Pantry, Chernila offered the world her simple, approachable recipes for staple items like cheese, ketchup, cereal and other common pantry items.  She also shared her methods for organizing a kitchen to facilitate true do-it-yourself cooking and her enlightening take on food, home and family.

“The collaboration provides Alana with the opportunity to share her knowledge and experiences with a larger group of people” said Berkshire Co-op Communications Manager Matt Novik. “Alana’s methods merge perfectly with our goals of increasing consciousness around food. Her methods re-involve people with their dinner while reducing waste and increasing healthful living.”

The workshop fee is $35 for regular participants and $25 for Berkshire Co-op Market member owners.  For more information, please call the Co-op at 413.528.9697 or visit Berkshire Co-op Market.
