Why Donate to the Rogovoy Report?

The online magazine the Rogovoy Report and its associated e-newsletters BerkshireDaily,  BerkshireWeekend, HudsonValleyDaily and HudsonValleyWeekend are free to readers and subscribers.

Seth Rogovoy

All told, it takes about 250 hours a month to write, edit, aggregate, design and manage the website, newsletters, content, and social media feeds that bring you a comprehensive, curated array of news, features and reviews from around the corner to around the globe.

The advertising you see on the website and e-newsletters defrays only to a partial extent the costs incurred in making all this happen, costs that in addition to time include out-of-pocket payments for web-hosting, e-mail servicing, design fees, subscriptions, online storage, computer hardware and software, technical support, and other associated items.

If you value what you receive from the Rogovoy Report, please consider a monthly, periodic, or annual donation by clicking on the Donate button in the column to the right.

Suggested amounts range from the cost of a typical monthly online news subscription (about $15) to a year’s worth of high-speed cable Internet (about $1,200).

To illustrate just how the most minimal of subscriber contributions could potentially have a significant effect on the Rogovoy Report:

  • If one-quarter of those who receive BerkshireDaily contributed just $5 per month, we could do away with the need for advertising and devote the space and time currently devoted to seeking, placing, and managing ads to more news gathering and more space for news.
  • If half of those who visit the Rogovoy Report website each month contributed just $5 per month, we could do away with advertising and offer much more original content.
  • If all of those who receive BerkshireWeekend contributed just $5 per month, we could do away with advertising and the need to find other sources of revenue, offer much more original content, and gather news from an even wider variety of sources.

To inquire about annual sponsorships of the Rogovoy Report – which come with recognition and free advertising as well as other premium items available only to sponsors who contribute in amounts starting at $500  – please send an e-mail to Seth Rogovoy at seth@rogovoy.com

Please remember: the Rogovoy Report is and remains one of very few remaining independent, locally owned news sources in the greater Berkshire region. My roots in the region date back 40 years, and I have lived here full-time since 1978.

Reminder: contributions to the Rogovoy Report are not tax-deductible, but they do support our efforts to provide independently owned, non-corporate, locally based cultural journalism free of charge. Think of us as your community-supported news service.

Modestly, Seth suggests it takes about 250 hours a month to prepare, edit, publish, and tend to the related duties and responsibilities of managing the delivery of the digital-online e-newsletters, BerkshireDaily and BerkshireWeekend.

To provide the unique perspective Seth offers about the Berkshire lifestyle, he lives a 24/7/365 life embedded within the culture of the Berkshires. That is why he knows it so well and he can communicate so powerfully to those of us who want to know more and to live closer to the inside track he reflects. We are fortunate to have such a well-written, informative, and entertaining “news about what’s happening source” available to us.

It takes oil to lube the tracks the BerkshireDaily travels on, time to grease the skids for success. Your contribution will be appreciated through the continuation of your subscription.

BerkshireDaily and BerkshiresWeekend are a valuable connection to the culture we love to share.
