(HUDSON, N.Y.) – Les Demoiselles d’Asheville, an exhibition of works by six artists from Asheville, N.C., opens at the Curatorium in Hudson, N.Y., on Saturday, May 11, 2013, at 6p.m. Artists chosen for the exhibit by guest curator Connie Bostic include Alice Sebrell, Linda Larsen, Porge Buck, Bridget Elmer, Amanda Wiles and Nicole McConville. The work in Les Demoiselles d’Asheville includes photography, prints, assemblage, book art, sculpture, and found objects. Bostic selected individual works from these artists, transported it to Hudson, and will spend one week in Curatorium’s space reassembling certain pieces into an overall installation.

Artist Linda Larsen, under the direction of Bostic and a master printer, will do direct screen printing on the exhibition walls as part of the installation. As with all Curatorium productions, Les Demoiselles d’Asheville’s final form will not take shape until just before the opening on Saturday. The public is invited to the two-hour reception to meet the guest curator and participating artists. The exhibition runs through July 20, 2013.

Curatorium is the public program for EB Fine Art (LLC). While works may be available for purchase Curatorium is primarily an experimental space where each installation is guest-curated to reflect a combined point of view of the artist, the curator and the producer. Exhibitions are on view from two to three months. In addition to the Curatorium, EB Fine Art supports the Elwood Beach Fine Art Foundation, which has a modest permanent collection. Its purpose is to collect, exhibit and protect certain works of art whose value transcends worth. The Foundation also aids artists and art organizations through small project or institutional grants. Neither the Foundation nor EB Fine Art accepts proposals or solicitations.

Another program of EB Fine Art is Scion Press. Established in 2008, Scion Press publishes small books on art and artists as well as the exhibition books for the Curatorium. Curatorium is located at 60 S. Front Street in Hudson, N.Y. Curatorium’s hours are Thursday thru Saturday afternoons from 1 to 5, or by appointment.
