Audra McDonald at the Colonial Theatre

Audra McDonald(PITTSFIELD, Mass.) – Audra McDonald, one of the few vocalists equally comfortable on opera, Broadway and cabaret stages, singing classical, standards, and contemporary songs, performs at the Colonial Theatre on Saturday, June 15, 2013, at 8pm. She will be accompanied by pianist Andy Einhorn. The Tony and Grammy Award-winning singer is also an actress, having appeared on many films and having played Dr. Naomi Bennett on ABC’s hit TV series “Private Practice” for four seasons.

McDonald recently stunned the Broadway world by concluding the recent Tony Awards ceremony with a version of Jay-Z and Alicia Key’s hit rap song, “Empire State of Mind.” Her brand new album, “Go Back Home” – her first album in seven years – features songs by composers with whom she has long been associated (Adam Guettel, LaChiusa, Rodgers & Hammerstein, Stephen Sondheim) and some, like the Kander & Ebb title track, relatively new to her repertoire.

Tickets to Audra McDonald are $50-$125. Contact the Colonial Ticket Office at 111 South Street, Pittsfield by calling 413-997-4444. Tickets can also be bought online at the Colonial Theatre. The Ticket Office is open Monday-Friday 10am-5pm, Saturdays 10am-2pm or on any performance day from 10am until curtain.
