Emmylou Harris and Rodney Crowell to Play HITS-on-the-Hudson

Emmylou Harris and Rodney Crowell(SAUGERTIES, N.Y.) – Americana music legends Emmylou Harris and Rodney Crowell, who collectively boast 13 Grammy Awards between them, join forces to perform at HITS-on-the-Hudson on Sunday, September 8, 2013, at 5pm. The longtime friends and occasional musical partners recently released Old Yellow Moon, their first duo album.

The concert was scheduled as a replacement date for the one originally featuring country-pop star Randy Travis, who has recently had several health emergencies.

Longtime friends Emmylou Harris, (12-time Grammy winner, Billboard Century Award recipient and Country Music Hall of Fame inductee) and Rodney Crowell (multi-Grammy winner and Songwriters Hall of Fame member) join forces for a powerful show in celebration of their newly released collaborative album Old Yellow Moon.

In a review of their Boston performance, the Boston Globe says: “Old Yellow Moon collects songs old and new, cutting across honky-tonk, classic country, ballads, and hell-raisers.” The artists “sound inspired by their recent reunion, and their chemistry shows their voices meshed seamlessly, his a rangy croon, hers as ethereal as smoke rings.”

All tickets are General Admission: $25 advance sale, $30 day of show. Tickets are available at the Bardavon box office in Poughkeepsie, the HITS offices on Main Street in Saugerties and through Ticketmaster.  Ticket price includes admission to HITS’ Championship Sunday show jumping finale, which will feature extraordinary equestrian classes in the HITS $250,000 Hunter Prix Final, Diamond Mills $500,000 Hunter Prix Final and Zoetis $1 Million Grand Prix Horse Show.

Festival Seating: No coolers permitted, bring blankets and lawn chairs. The HITS-on-the-Hudson venue includes full bar and assorted food available for purchase.
