(HUDSON, N.Y.)  – Kill Me Now, a comic drama by Canadian playwright Brad Fraser, is having its U.S. premiere at the new Cross Street Theater Center, located at Stageworks/Hudson and providing theater companies and performing artists an affordable venue to produce their work. The play, produced by Kaliyuga Arts of Catskill, N.Y., runs Thursdays through Sundays, October 3, 2013 until October 13, 2013.

Kill Me Now tells the story of Jake Sturdy, a widower who was once a promising novelist but now teaches creative writing in order to take care of his severely disabled son. A clandestine affair with a married woman is Jake’s only respite from the pressures of his life. But when Jake himself is suddenly stricken with a crippling condition, everything he wants for his family is put in jeopardy as they face the very hard questions about pain, mortality and the true price of love. And while the play asks some deep questions, it leavens the journey with healthy doses of laughter. Kill Me Now is a funny, highly compelling and illuminating story about caring for those we love.

Kill Me Now features Kaliyuga Arts veterans Molly Parker-Myers, Samuel Hoeksema, and Steven Patterson. Filling out the cast are Kay Capasso and JD Scalzo. The play is directed and designed by John Sowle, artistic Director of Kaliyuga Arts, with Jennifer Dobies as stage manager.

Kill Me Now contains nudity and adult situations and is recommended for mature audiences only.
