BOBBY PREVITE CONTINUES MILES DAVIS TRIBUTE at CLUB HELSINKI HUDSON

(HUDSON, N.Y.) – The Voodoo Orchestra North, led by legendary jazz drummer, improviser and composer Bobby Previte – a recent transplant to Hudson – and featuring many great upstate New York musicians, will continue its regular series of performances devoted to exploring the music of Miles Davis’s eternal electric jazz-funk masterpiece, “Bitches Brew,” at Club Helsinki Hudson on Monday nights: October 14, November 4, and November 25, at 8pm.

(HUDSON, N.Y.) – Where the Sky Opens, an exhibition of large scale mixed media paintings, works on paper and site specific installation by Tim Ebneth exploring and investigating Columbia County’s towns, villages, hamlets and overall landscape of beauty, opens in the Museum Room at the Pocketbook Factory on the corner of North 6th Street and Prospect Street through Sunday, October 13, 2013. There will be an artist’s reception on Saturday, October 12 from 6 to 8pm.

(HUDSON, N.Y.) – “Eat the Farm 2,” the second farm greenhouse dinner bringing together the culinary talents of Helsinki Hudson executive chef Hugh Horner and the bounty of Holmquest Farms, will take place on Thursday, October 10, at 7pm, in the Holmquest Farms greenhouse at 516 Spook Rock Rd. This follows in the wake of the hugely successful first Eat the Farm greenhouse dinner – a sold-out event – that took place in late July.

BRAD FRASER’S ‘KILL ME NOW’ GETS US PREMIERE at NEW CROSS STREET THEATER CENTER

(HUDSON, N.Y.)  – Kill Me Now, a comic drama by Canadian playwright Brad Fraser, is having its U.S. premiere at the new Cross Street Theater Center, located at Stageworks/Hudson and providing theater companies and performing artists an affordable venue to produce their work. The play, produced by Kaliyuga Arts of Catskill, N.Y., runs Thursdays through Sundays, October 3, 2013 until October 13, 2013.
