North Mississippi Allstars(HUDSON, N.Y.) – The Grammy Award-nominated North Mississippi Allstars bring their blues-infused rock ‘n’ roll to Club Helsinki Hudson on Sunday, March 2, 2014, at 8pm.

Brothers Luther and Cody Dickinson, sons of the late, legendary Memphis musician and producer Jim Dickinson (whose credits include Bob Dylan and the Rolling Stones), form the core of North Mississippi Allstars, which was founded in 1996. Right out of the gate, their 2000 debut album, “Shake Hands With Shorty,” garnered them a Grammy nomination for Best Contemporary Blues album. Two more nominations followed in the same category for subsequent recordings

On their own, in different projects, or together as North Mississippi Allstars, the Dickinson brothers have performed and recorded with the likes of Dave Matthews, Robert Plant, Gov’t Mule, John Hiatt, Robert Randolph, John Medeski, and Big Head Todd & the Monsters.

With Luther Dickinson handling guitar and vocals and Cody Dickinson on drums and vocals, the North Mississippi Allstars are typically fleshed out by additional musicians, sometimes including Lightnin’ Malcolm, Alvin Youngblood Hart, previous member Chris Chew, and others.
