Ben Taylor hFOLK-ROCK ROYALTY BEN TAYLOR COMING to HELSINKI HUDSON

(HUDSON, N.Y.) – Fresh from a tour of Northern Europe and the United Kingdom, folk-rock singer-songwriter Ben Taylor will perform at Club Helsinki Hudson on Friday, April 18, at 9pm. Taylor, a longtime favorite of Helsinki audiences dating back to the club’s origins in Great Barrington, Mass., is touring with a new batch of songs, slated for a new album tentatively titled Clouds In The Dirt and due to be released in May 2014. Taylor released his last studio album, Listening, in late 2012. The fabulous Woodstock singer-songwriter Simi Stone will warm up the crowd for Taylor with a solo acoustic set of her patented “Mountain Motown” music.

PIANIST PEDJA MUZIJEVIC to PERFORM WORKS by HAYDN, LISZT, CHOPIN and CAGE at WILLIAMS

(WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass.) – Pianist Pedja Muzijevic will perform works by Haydn, Liszt, Chopin and John Cage in Brooks Rogers Recital Hall on the Williams College campus on Friday, April 18, at 8pm. Muzijevic also presides over a master class with Williams College music students on Thursday, April 17, at 4:15pm in Brooks Rogers Recital Hall. Both events are free and open to the public. For the concert on Friday, Muzijevic’s performance spans three centuries of music for piano. He begins with Haydn’s Sonata in C major, John Cage’s “The Seasons,” two works by Franz Liszt: “Schlaflos! Frage und Antwort” and “Bagatelle sans tonalite,” and Wagner-Liszt “Isolde’s Liebestod.” After a brief intermission, Muzijevic will conclude with 24 Preludes, op. 28 by Frederic Chopin.

(NORTH ADAMS, Mass.) – On the heels of the release of their internationally acclaimed EP “Lost in the Internet,” Berkshire-based dubstep duo Barely Alive will headline Rock the Block 2.0, taking place on Main Street in downtown North Adams on Sunday, May 4, 2014, from 2 to 8pm, with Barely Alive expected to take the stage at 6pm. The block party will also include performances by Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts (MCLA) student clubs such as the Allegrettos, Nexus, Dance Company and local bands including Rebel Alliance and T-Bone Daddy.
