Berkshire Grown to Host Spring Brunch at Prairie Whale

prairie whale(GREAT BARRINGTON, Mass.) – Berkshire Grown will host “A Festive Brunch to Celebrate Spring & Get to Know Berkshire Grown” in order to increase support for local farms on Sunday, April 27, 2014, from 11am to 1pm. Hosted by member restaurant Prairie Whale (178 Main St., Great Barrington), the event will feature a special drink inspired by the event and delicious locally grown and produced tastes created by Stephen Browning, head chef at Prairie Whale.

“Berkshire Grown is the ‘go-to’ network linking farmers and the Berkshire community,” says Barbara Zheutlin, director of Berkshire Grown. “Berkshire Grown’s Farm to Table Network links farmers and local food producers with buyers – chefs, restaurant owners, grocers, Inns, schools and all of us who like to eat locally grown food.”

Guests will enjoy hors d’oeuvres and drinks featuring local ingredients sourced from Leahey Farm in Lee, The Berry Patch, North Plain Farm, Barrington Coffee Roasters, and Berkshire Mountain Distillers.
