(PITTSFIELD, Mass.) — The industrial heritage of the city of Pittsfield and the greater Berkshire region is celebrated in “Our Industrial Heritage 2.0,” a new exhibition of photography by Scott Barrow at the Lichtenstein Center for the Arts now through June 31, 2014. There will be an opening reception on Saturday, June 14, from 5 to 7pm.

Scott Barrow is a true artist with a camera, whose work is probably best known to Berkshirites through his distinctive and copious contributions to the erstwhile Berkshire Living magazine. Barrow’s photographic voice was a key component of the magazine from the very first issue – his was the cover photo – to the last, and his vision helped the magazine garner numerous awards over its seven-year lifetime.

The photographs in this exhibit in particular celebrate such state-of-the-art manufacturing, high-tech, and service companies as Berkshire Medical Center, ChemEx, Crane Paper, General Dynamics, Interprint, Lenco, Lightning Technologies, LTI Smart Glass, Modern Mold and Tool, Nuclea, Qualprint, Berkshire Eagle, and Sabic, among others.

“The Berkshires are known as one of the premier cultural/performance centers on the East cCoast,” says Barrow.  “However, most people do not realize that it is also the home of a highly skilled work force who are doing international business in numerous local high-tech manufacturing facilities.”
