(HUDSON, N.Y.) – Legendary New York psych band Endless Boogie, No Wave avatars the Swans; Balinese Gamelan ensemble Dharma Swara, and black metal group Deafheaven are just some of the artists presenting at the third annual Basilica SoundScape, a carefully curated three-day program featuring a wide range of music, visual art, and literature that aims for specific connections and overlaps instead of “festival”-style overload, at Basilica Hudson from Friday, September 12, through Sunday, September 14, 2014.
OLANA to HOST SITE-SPECIFIC INSTALLATIONS and PERFORMANCES
(HUDSON, N.Y.) – Over a dozen installations and performances will be featured in Groundswell, an award-winning exhibition event at Olana State Historic Site on Saturday, September 13, 2014, from 2 to 6pm. Hundreds are expected to converge at Olana for site-specific performance and works and in sound, installation, broadcast, and movement. Over a dozen artists will reflect on and react to Olana and its integral viewshed as an ambitious and early environmental work.
NEW PAINTINGS, SCULPTURE and PHOTOGRAPHY at JOHN DAVIS GALLERY
(HUDSON, N.Y.) – New works by sculptor Leonid Lerman, painters Tine Lundsfyrd, Linnea Paskow, and Chuck Bowdish, and photographer Paul Hamann go on display at John Davis Gallery on Thursday, September 11, 2014, and will remain on view through October 5, 2014. There will be an artists’ reception on Saturday, September 13, from 6 to 8pm.
