(NORTH ADAMS, Mass.) – Choreographer/dancer Kyle Abraham and his ensemble, Abraham.In.Motion, will unveil “The Watershed,” a new, evening-length work in Abraham’s signature blend of classical form, postmodern invention, and urban influences in the Hunter Center at MASS MoCA on Saturday, October 18, at 8pm, and Sunday, October 19, at 3pm. Tackling subject matter from the Emancipation Proclamation to the end of Apartheid in South Africa, and set to a score that incorporates contemporary cello, soul favorites, and more, “The Watershed” is at once an elegant, physically electrifying choreographic work and a provocative sociopolitical reflection.

DIANNE REEVES BRINGS POP-JAZZ to MAHAIWE

(GREAT BARRINGTON, Mass.) – Four-time Grammy Award-winning pop-jazz vocalist Dianne Reeves will perform with her quartet at the Mahaiwe on Sunday, October 19, at 7pm. The concert will feature selections from her most recent album, “Beautiful Life,” which taps the rock era for covers of Bob Marley’s “Waiting in Vain,” Fleetwood Mac’s “Dreams,” Marvin Gaye’s “I Want You” and Ani DiFranco’s “32 Flavors,” along with a range of new songs.

Roma Holocaust SurvivorsMOZART’S REQUIEM PAIRED with COLLOQUY on ROMA GENOCIDE at BARD

(ANNANDALE-on-HUDSON, N.Y.) — The German genocide of Europe’s Gypsy population during World War II will be the focus of a multidisciplinary event, including a concert and panel discussion, at Bard College on Friday, October 17, 2014. A panel discussion titled “Remembering the Genocide of European Roma During World War II” at 4pm will be followed by a performance of Mozart’s Requiem Mass in the Sosnoff Theater of the Fisher Center at 6:30pm. Exploring issues of history and responsibility, the themed event was conceived of by acclaimed Hungarian conductor Ádám Fischer, who will conduct the Requiem Mass. The panel discussion will be held in the La?szlo? Z. Bito? ’60 Conservatory Building. Tickets are free for both events and no reservations are necessary.

(HUDSON, N.Y.) – Husband-and-wife duo Larry Campbell and Teresa Williams will bring their award-winning Americana music and roots-rocking outfit featuring bassist Byron Isaacs and drummer Justin Guip to Club Helsinki Hudson on Friday, October 17, at 9pm. The Woodstock, N.Y.-based singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Campbell is a Grammy Award-winning producer and an Americana icon whose career has been inextricably intertwined with the likes of Judy Collins, Lucy Kaplansky, Linda Thompson, Sheryl Crow, Paul Simon, B. B. King, Willie Nelson, Eric Andersen, Buddy and Julie Miller, Kinky Friedman, Little Feat, Hot Tuna, Cyndi Lauper, k.d. lang, Rosanne Cash, most notably, Levon Helm – for whom he served as musical director of the Midnight Rambles – and Bob Dylan, with whom he toured and recorded for eight years in the late 1990s and early 2000s, as part of what is generally agreed to have been the strongest lineup of Dylan’s “Never Ending Tour” band.
