(HUDSON, N.Y.) – Folk music legends John Sebastian (The Lovin’ Spoonful) and Happy Traum – a session guitarist for Bob Dylan – will be joined by fingerstyle guitarists Kinloch Nelson, Craig D’Andrea and Maycn Taylor performing in a guitars-in-the-round setting at Club Helsinki Hudson on Thursday, October 23, 2014, at 8pm. All five musicians are being featured the following weekend in the Woodstock Invitational Luthiers Showcase: a festival of handmade acoustic guitars and other stringed instruments featuring some of the world’s finest guitars and guitar builders.

John Sebastian and Happy Traum’s careers are the stuff of legend. Sebastian enjoyed a string of Top 10 hits with the pop-rock group the Lovin’ Spoonful, and penned and recorded the memorable theme song to the hit TV show, “Welcome Back, Kotter.” Happy Traum recorded several genre-defining folk albums with his brother Artie; has produced an essential series of instructional books and tapes; and is probably best known as an accompanist for Bob Dylan on several previously unreleased tracks that appeared on “Bob Dylan’s Greatest Hits, Vol. II.”
