‘Sauerkraut’ Seth Travins

(HUDSON, N.Y.) – Seth’s Sauerkraut Revue, a mini-festival of regional Americana and honky-tonk performers hosted by “Sauerkraut” Seth Travins, returns to Club Helsinki Hudson on Friday, December 26, at 9pm. Seth’s Sauerkraut Revue includes an all-star cast of Hudson Valley roots musicians, including Pete Adams, Tony Kieraldo, Chris Neumann, Lukas Schwartz, Sasha Pearl, Jay “The Velvet Frog” Gerald, Seamus Maynard and Sebastian Douzal. Chops and Sauerkraut, featuring Travins on guitar, Michael “Chops” LaConte on slap bass and Slink Moss on drums, are the house band for the evening.

Chops and Sauerkraut are a hard-edged rockabilly, honky-tonk and garage band influenced by Carl Perkins, the Standells, ? and the Mysterians, Frankie Yankovic, Elvis Presley, Bob Wills, and the Cramps, featuring upright bassist Chops Laconte (Lustre Kings, Wanda Jackson) and “Sauerkraut” Seth Travins (the Wiyos) on vocals and guitar. Slink Moss will hold down the drum seat for this show.

Séamus Maynard has been playing guitar and writing music since he was 13 years old. A native of upstate New York, his professional training in acting brought him to London, Belgium, Australia, Italy, Switzerland, Austria, and now back home and to New York City. He studied classical guitar and composition with Ed Flower, a master guitarist and composer. Maynard is a cofounder of Quiet In The Head, a violin, guitar and cello trio that collaboratively composes and performs all original instrumental pieces. He also writes original songs for his band, Séamus Maynard & Friends.

The evening’s host, “Sauerkraut” Seth Travins, makes organic lacto-fermented sauerkrauts and kimchee under his own label in Hudson. Seth’s original sauerkraut is served on the bar menu at Helsinki Hudson.
