(HILLSDALE, N.Y.) – There will be an artist’s reception for Winter Nova, an eclectic group exhibition featuring work by the eight artists represented by Neumann Fine Art, at the gallery on Saturday, January 17, 2015, at 5:30pm. The work by artists including Ron Goldfinger, Ken Young, Margot Trout, Joel Griffith, H.M. Saffer II, Joel Mark, Cal Thompson, and Jeffrey L. Neumann is on view through February.

New work by Ron Goldfinger includes two of the classic still life subjects for which the Monterey, Mass., based painter is known, plus three new miniature plein air landscapes.

Ghent, N.Y., artist Ken Young debuts two new figurative paintings, while Margot Trout of South Egremont, Mass., presents three of her serene Berkshires winter landscapes. The Painter Laureate of Tivoli, Joel Griffith, is represented by his evocative oil on panel winter scene “House on West Kerley.”

The remaining four artists in the show all maintain studios in Hillsdale, NY. H.M. Saffer II is showing four new oil-on-panel works in his neo-pointillist style. The latest piece to come from Joel Mark’s museum-quality furniture workshop is a luxurious walnut and East Indian satinwood veneer writing desk.

A recent transplant from Long Island, Cal Thompson is the newest artist to join the roster at the gallery. Thompson creates video projections that are inspired by nature and the spirit of the Dada movement and its processes. He will be transforming the Anthony Street outside of the building with a moving image generated by his patent pending CT Optic Distortion Filter.

Gallery owner and realist painter Jeffrey L. Neumann will be showing three of his American vernacular oil paintings as well as his latest watercolor: White Manna. Neumann’s studio is adjunct to the gallery, allowing visitors to get a special preview of Neumann’s latest oil painting: Porky’s Drive-in, as it reaches its final stage on the easel.

Neumann Fine Art is located at 65 Cold Water Street, Hillsdale, NY. Gallery hours are Thursday – Sunday 11 – 4 For more information visit Neumann Fine Art or call 413-246-5776.
