INDIE-ROCKERS ZAMMUTO and GOTYE to PLAY MASS MoCA
(NORTH ADAMS, Mass.) – Zammuto, the nom de bande of the art-rock genius Nick Zammuto, performs in the Hunter Center at MASS MoCA on Saturday, March 21, at 8pm, joined by special guest Gotye, the Belgian-Australian international music sensation who already has three Grammy Awards to his credit, including Record of the Year for the 2013 hit, “Somebody That I Used to Know.”

(GREAT BARRINGTON, Mass.) – Russian pianist Vassily Primakov joins distinguished cellist Yehuda Hanani in a program of works by Sergei Rachmaninoff at the Mahaiwe on Saturday, March 21, at 6pm, as part of the Close Encounters with Music series. Among the works they will perform are the Sonata for Piano and Cello, the early Prelude and Orientale, and Variations on a Theme of Corelli.
CARLETON SINGERS to PERFORM at CLARK ART INSTITUTE
(WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass.) – The Carleton Singers of Carleton College in Northfield, Minn., will perform a free, hour-long program at the Clark Art Institute on Friday, March 20, at 3pm in the Clark Center, West Pavilion. The program includes a variety of styles and features a number of Minnesota composers.

MASSIVE RETROSPECTIVE of WORKS by JIM SHAW at MASS MoCA
(NORTH ADAMS, Mass.) – Entertaining Doubts, the largest exhibition of works by Jim Shaw in the United States, goes on view at MASS MoCA on Saturday, March 28. The centerpiece of the exhibition will be a series of large-scale paintings that Shaw began in 2004, utilizing old theatrical backdrops that he cuts apart, turning painting into architecture. There will be an opening reception on Saturday, March 28, from 5 to 6:30pm.
