Popular Berkshire Bakery-Cafe Opening Storefront in Hudson

Patisserie Lenox in Hudsonby Seth Rogovoy

(HUDSON, N.Y., May 13, 2015) – A sign touting  “Patisserie Lenox coming soon” was spotted in the window of 504 Warren Street this afternoon. Co-owner Yulia Bougouin confirmed that she hopes the cafe is open and ready for business by June 20, meaning that by summer, the city can look forward to the arrival of one of the hottest bakery-cafes to hit the region in years.

Pastry chef Jean Yves Bougouin enjoyed a hugely successful career as a pastry chef all over Europe and in the New York City metro area before opening his first pastry shop, Patisserie Lenox, in the the town of Lenox, Mass., in 2011. Two years later, Bougouin and his wife, Yulia, opened their second shop in Great Barrington, Mass., and it quickly became a hotspot in that already bustling town.

It makes total sense that the two would want to expand westward to Hudson, and they’ve found a prime location, especially now that the former Swallow (which seems to have been swallowed up within Cafe Moto, and still seems to be searching for a new role and identity) has moved a good spot westward down Warren.

Patisserie Lenox is more than just a pastry shop. It’s a full-service cafe with specialty coffee drinks that serves breakfast and lunch, including serving soups, salads and sandwiches made with local, organic ingredients.

According to the shop’s website, “Among our offerings are artisanal desserts and pastries, including delicious mousse cakes, luscious fruit tarts, as well as croissants and brioches, baked daily. Take a step into one of our lovely patisseries and be dazzled by an overwhelming array of French special occasion cakes and the wide assortment of handmade classic French macarons. Patisserie Lenox also offers an outstanding selection of gourmet coffees, teas and seasonal drinks.  Classic French breakfast and lunch made with organic ingredients, are served all day.”

Yulia Bougoin notes that the bakery-cafe is hiring for all positions now, and whoever is interested can email Yulia at info@patisserielenox.com.
