(HUDSON, N.Y.) – In preparation for citywide Flag Day festivities on Sunday, June 14, Basilica Hudson once again hosts the after-dark (FREAK) FLAG DAY party as a ritual recognition of the beloved Flag Day tradition in Hudson., at the Basilica on Saturday, June 13, at 8pm.. Back for her third year, Shannon Funchess, the LIGHT ASYLUM founder, producer and frontwoman, will perform a solo musical set followed by a heavy DJ set in the raw, gloriously industrial Basilica space.

The annual Flag Day celebrations in Hudson are a David Lynch-Americana-Wet-Dream. For the fourth year in a row, Basilica extends an open invitation to participants to create their own flag and contribute to a body of work supporting future programming at Basilica Hudson and celebrating the independent spirit of our community.

No matter who made the flag, all flags will be equal and anonymous — an exercise in democracy and the opposite of a typical art auction. Fall in love with any flag and take it home with a modest donation to Basilica to help support nonprofit arts and community programming.
