Third Annual Maker’s Market Takes Place at Waterfront This Weekend

you take brooklyn(HUDSON, N.Y.) – The Hudson River Exchange’s third curated Summer Market, featuring 100 vendors of high quality handmade goods, unique vintage finds, farm fresh food purveyors, and live music, takes place at Henry Hudson Riverfront Park this weekend, Saturday and Sunday, June 27-28, 2015. With a focus on regional vendors, the market features a selection of artists from across the Northeast and is a destination for those searching out the unique and handmade from Virginia to Vermont.

Summer Market showcases and celebrates the dynamic community of the Hudson Valley maker movement with a selection of traveling vendors bringing their own regional style with them. Hudson River Exchange’s curated lineup is a varied anthology of made and collected goods, featuring a wide variety of disciplines and styles.

Summer Market is held at the Henry Hudson Riverfront Park right on the Hudson River with a backdrop of the Catskill Mountains and just steps from Hudson’s Amtrak station. Admission is free, and hours are Saturday, June 27, 10am – 6pm; and Sunday, June 28, 11am – 4pm.

New School Design teacher Elizabeth Parker, who created ParkerWorks, a line of handmade geometric mobiles inspiring discovery & beauty.

Jocelyn Krodman, a metalsmith who designs Petit Felts to enchant and delight.

Darbie Nawatka, who brings a sense of whimsy to her handmade line Field Guide Design as well as her vintage collection, Love Field Vintage.

Fire and Ash, who will bring their vintage collection featuring the fun and feminine – and some Diane Von Furstenberg.

Renaissance woman Erica Fink, traveling from Durham, N.C., who is a master of playful and color-filled weavings, textiles and jewelry.

Brooklyn based duo Xia + Filo Tio, who combine vintage and contemporary clothing with furniture & accessories for the home in their collections CommeUn and 5 Flights Up.

Caroline Wallner, who brings Tivoli Tile Works back to Summer Market, this year designing specific pieces to bring to Hudson River Exchange. Hint: It will involve whales!

Field Apothecary, which offers a full line of Ayurveda-inspired wellness products made from herbs grown organically on her Germantown farm. Dana will also be supplying the seeds for The Art of Worth.

Inspired by the Hudson River’s long history of bringing together people, ideas and commerce, HUDSON RIVER EXCHANGE produces curated marketplaces and develops programming to cultivate and support the makers + collectors in and around Hudson.

Bringing these makers + collectors of diverse creative disciplines out of their studios, farms, and kitchens, HUDSON RIVER EXCHANGE has become the fulcrum of the Hudson Valley maker movement and a destination for those searching out the unique and handmade from Vermont to NYC.

Beginning Summer 2015, Hudson River Exchange will be offering membership for local makers and collectors wishing to further their professional development. First of trunk shows to launch July 2015.
