(OLD CHATHAM, N.Y.) – Works by Marguerite Bride and Karen S. Jacobs are featured in “Berkshire Visions: Two Artists, Two Mediums,” at the Old Chatham Country Store & Café from Friday, June 3, to Wednesday, July 27. An opening reception takes place on Sunday, June 5, from 3 to 5pm. The exhibition features representational watercolors by Bride and abstract oil paintings by Jacobs.

Marguerite Bride, an accomplished painter of local and regional scenes, is a four-time exhibitor at the Old Chatham Country Store & Cafe. Her work displays the beauty of the Berkshires and includes paintings of recognizable Berkshire and New England scenes, including Hancock Shaker Village.

Bride’s work has been featured on magazine, catalog, and CD covers. One of her paintings will be displayed on the rounding board when the Berkshire Carousel, located in Pittsfield, Mass., opens in July. Bride is a Pittsfield resident and works out of her home studio.

Karen S. Jacobs is a first time exhibitor at the Old Chatham Country Store & Cafe. Karen is an accomplished painter of abstract landscapes whose work has taken on an new flair since moving to the Berkshires a few years ago. Instead of skies over water or land, she now incorporates skies over treetops, sunsets over rolling hills, as well as ponds and natural flora into her work.

Jacobs has exhibited work in numerous places in the Berkshires including galleries and other locations in Becket, Great Barrington, and Pittsfield, Mass. Prior to moving to Pittsfield, she lived in the Boston area and exhibited in numerous galleries in Boston and Eastern Massachusetts.

From April to December each year, the Old Chatham Country Store & Cafe displays a wide variety of art, by accomplished regional artists, curated by Judy Staber.

The Old Chatham Country Store & Cafe, owned and operated by Brian Albert, is located at 639 Albany Turnpike, Old Chatham, N.Y.
