(HUDSON, N.Y.) – Violinist and acoustic music legend Darol Anger brings his annual holiday-music program – this year featuring banjo genius Tony Trischka and rising singer-songwriter Emy Phelps – to Club Helsinki Hudson on Sunday, December 4, at 8pm. The concert will feature an all-star cast of string musicians in a multigenerational musical experience focusing on the spirit of mid-winter and the turning of the year.

Darol Anger draws upon years of experience with holiday shows from the Windham Hill Winter Solstice Concerts through Newgrange to Yulegrass. His quirky humor and his genius for organizing exciting bands, has made these events an annual tradition, and this year is the fifth in his annual Keepin’-It-in-the-Fam Holiday Show.

Check out this video from last year’s Keepin’-It-in-the-Fam Holiday Show, which features the group performing a mashup of Curtis Mayfield and Bob Marley. It’s an all-around, in-the-spirit-of-the-season musical extravaganza.
Alone and together, Darol Anger and Tony Trischka have mentored some of the most exciting string musicians in the world. The phenomenal bassist Ethan Jodziewicz – a protege of Edgar Meyer – and youthful guitar wizard Grant Gordy will join Anger, Trischka, and Phelps in this season’s concerts. Special guests, family, and friends, are also expected to join in the holiday fun.
