Healing Arts Journey for Women at Sruti Yoga Center

(GREAT BARRINGTON, Mass.) – Vinisha’s Garden, a four-month course in transformative and healing arts for women, will be offered at Sruti Yoga Center beginning on January 14, 2012, and running through April 21. Led by Amy Webb, owner/founder of Sruti, Vinisha’s Garden meets every other Saturday from 1 to 4 p.m., and is for all ages and experience levels.

This journey presents a colorful weave of over 20 techniques in yoga, meditation, shamanic tools, and energy therapies from around the world. Inspired by her experience as a wilderness therapy guide for women, Amy is thrilled to bring women together to study and experience healing in a supportive environment.

“How can we do our inner work, cultivate our ‘inner gardens,’ listen to the voice in our hearts, and at the same time be present and available for our families and our responsibilities?” asks Amy. “That inner work is regenerative because it stems from the power of true love. That is what I hope to offer as we journey together through elements, colors, themes, practices, techniques — and a lot of laughter.”

A free introductory class is scheduled for those interested in learning more about this course on Thursday, January 12 from 8 to 9 p.m. but is not mandatory. Amy offers make-up classes between every session throughout the course. Session 1 make-up is scheduled for Saturday, January 21 from 2-4 pm.

“It was really helpful to many busy moms, and moms-to-be last fall to know that they could make up a session and still complete the course,” Amy said. The 24 women who participated in Vinisha’s Garden in autumn 2011 enjoyed a transformative experience and plan to meet once a month to continue their coursework.

Enrollment in Vinisha’s Garden include 4 free class passes to Sruti and an optional 45-minute private session with Amy Webb.

Sruti Yoga Center is located at 33 Railroad St., 2nd Floor, and offers Yoga for Beginners, traditional Mysore-style Ashtanga yoga, Ashtanga Vinyasa, Anusara-based Vinyasa flow, Kundalini yoga, QiGong, Meditation, and Pre-and Post-Natal classes.
