Hudson’s Rock Royalty Teams Up for Housing Benefit Concert

Home Bass poster(HUDSON, N.Y.) – Four musicians representing bands including the Rolling Stones, Guns n’ Roses, Smashing Pumpkins, the Replacements, Hole and Rasputina – all equally distinguished for their solo work and all four residents of this riverside city – are joining forces on Sunday, January 27, 2013, at 7pm at Club Helsinki Hudson, for an unprecedented collaboration called “Home Bass: 4 Strings, 4 Hearts,” to benefit the local Habitat for Humanity affiliate, Columbia County Habitat, and its innovative project, the Columbia Passive Townhouses. Now being built in Hudson at 244-246 Columbia Street, these revolutionary homes will reduce their owners’ energy consumption and costs by 90 percent. The project is the first affordable housing development to be built in New York State according to Passive House design and construction standards.
The four musicians — Melissa Auf Der Maur (Hole/Smashing Pumpkins), Meshell Ndegeocello, Tommy Stinson (The Replacements/Guns ‘n Roses), and Melora Creager (Rasputina), three bassists and one cellist (Creager) along with other local musicians and friends — will perform in a cabaret-style format, with rotating cast of players and special guests, including Cathy Grier, the self-styled “NYC Subway Girl.”

Tickets for the 7 pm concert are $50 each for reserved club seating; $30 for seats at the bar and $20 for general admission standing room. Dinner is available in the club, starting at 5pm or in the Helsinki dining room after the concert.
