Anyone who has had the great pleasure and honor of having known or worked with Clemens Kalischer, as I have been most fortunate to do, knows how reticent he is, especially on two topics in paritcular: himself and his past. All the more credit to Scott Christianson of Great Barrington, Mass., who was able to get Kalischer to open up and who recounts Kalischer’s amazing life story in a feature in this week’s Forward.
