(LENOX, Mass.) – There will be an opening reception for Lucy MacGillis: Recent Paintings from Italy, with the artist, a Berkshire native, at Hoadley Gallery on Saturday, July 6, 2013, from 5 pm to 7 pm. The exhibition runs from July 4 through August 1.

Lucy MacGillis (b.1977, U.S.A.) has been painting in Italy since her graduation from the University of Pennsylvania in 2000. Her paintings are represented in private and corporate collections internationally. A native of the Berkshires, she now lives and paints on a hilltop in Umbria with her son, Vito. Working from the landscape, still lifes Lucy MacGillis portraitand recently, the human figure, she combines an appreciation of Cezanne and Morandi with her own unique style to create exquisite oil paintings of her life in Umbria. Her paintings are timeless and classic yet have a fresh contemporary feeling.

Hoadley Gallery is located at 21 Church St., Lenox, Mass.
