Berkshire Grown Maple Dinner at Cranwell to Benefit Share the Bounty

March Maple Dinner leaf 2014(LENOX, Mass.) – The annual March Maple Dinner to benefit Berkshire Grown and its project, Share the Bounty, which buys shares in local farms for food pantries and community kitchens, will take place at Cranwell Resort on Monday, March 24, 2014, at 6pm. Berkshire Grown chefs will create an inventive tree-to-table menu to celebrate the first harvest of the season – maple syrup.

The five-course meal is being curated by Jeffrey Thompson, executive chef at Wheatleigh.

Thompson and his fellow chefs will produce a meal that is inspired by maple syrup at every stage, from cocktails and hors d’oeuvres in the Mansion Music Room to dinner and dessert in the Ballroom. In addition to Thompson, this year’s chefs are:

  •  Chris Bonnivier, Gala Steakhouse & Bistro
  •  Marianne Comella, Mezze Bistro + Bar
  •  Christophe Jalbert, Route 7 Grill
  •  Ron Reda, Table Six at The Kemble Inn
  •  Daire Rooney, Allium Restaurant + Bar

The evening will feature a live auction of a wine dinner for eight at Wheatleigh. There will also be an opportunity to sponsor shares in Share the Bounty. The evening begins at 6 pm with hors d’oeuvres and a complimentary tasting of beverages from Barrington Brewery and Berkshire Mountain Distillers (cash bar available). Dinner follows at 7pm, with wine donated by M.S. Walker Wines. Chefs will be using maple syrup and other ingredients from local farms.
