(HUDSON, N.Y.) – A Flag Day Industrial Dance Party featuring a DJ set by Shannon F of Light Asylum and performances by Crush, Love Pig and Evildoers will take place at Basilica Hudson on Saturday, June 14, 2014, at 8pm. The event will provide attendees a front-row view of the city’s annual fireworks display over the Hudson River. Tickets are $10 at the door.
Fresh off the Shaking the Habituals tour with Sweden’s brother and sister duo, The Knife, Shannon F is a veteran of the NYC music scene and a force to be reckoned with. “Light Asylum is the kind of record obsessions are born from. The smoldering presence of frontwoman Shannon Funchess, a Grace Jones for the cold wave set, gives way to a collection of songs that are at once tender and barbed like wire.” – Flavorwire
Crush is described as the “Brooklyn based electronic love child of Alessandra Genovese and Rogelio Ramos. Swirling keyboards and two part vocal harmonies create the lush foundation of their sound, punctuated by both programmed and live percussion. 60?s surf references and Middle Eastern scales weave in and out of their gothic landscape, centered on love in all of its facets: devoted, shimmering, desperate, intoxicating, and depraved.”
Also taking the stage will be Love Pig (James Thatcher), an “American artist, musician, vocalist, and producer, who merges visuals and bedroom pop to paint drugged out daydreams of submissive love affairs, seedy night-clubs, fog machines, strobe lights, leather, sex & sorrow”.
The nascent Evildoers, comprised of Hudson’s own Melissa Auf Der Maur (Hole, Smashing Pumpkins), Dan Seward (Dan Bunny, Bunnybrains of Warren Streets’ The Record Shoppe), and C. Lavender joined by special guest Shannon F.
