(HUDSON, N.Y.) – Zephyr Teachout, who is challenging the embattled Andrew Cuomo for the Democratic nomination for governor of New York, will appear at Basilica Hudson on Sunday, August 10, 2014, at noon, in a free meet-the-candidate event.
A flyer for the event describes Teachout as “anti-corruption, anti-fracking” and “progressive” – all adjectives that are intended to set her apart from the current governor, who has disappointed many on the left for his pro-business and pro-fracking positions. Cuomo has also come under fire for his handling of the Moreland Commission, which was investigating ethics violations and corruption in state government until Cuomo disbanded it.
