(HUDSON, N.Y.) – Singer and trombonist Glen David Andrews brings his jazzy, horn-laced New Orleans funk and soul band back to Club Helsinki Hudson on Saturday, November 8, at 9pm. Andrews combines a voice and stage presence worthy of Louis Armstrong, updated for the hip-hop era. A typical Glen David Andrews set offers a mix of traditional jazz, rock, gospel, funk and even a little zydeco.
‘LANDSCAPES & BODYSCAPES’ EXHIBIT OPENS at CARRIE HADDAD GALLERY
(HUDSON, N.Y.) – “Landscapes & Bodyscapes,” an exhibition of new works by three artists whose studies of landscapes and bodyscapes have catapulted them to national and international recognition, opens at Carrie Haddad Gallery on Wednesday, November 5, and will remain on view through December 14. There will be an opening reception for the show, featuring works by Jane Bloodgood-Abrams, Mark Beard and Dan Rupe, on Saturday, November 8, from 6 to 8pm.

(WOODSTOCK, N.Y.) – Simi Stone, Amy Helm, and two-time Grammy Award-nominee Elizabeth Mitchell headline “Ladies of the Valley,” an intimate evening with some of the Hudson Valley’s best women singers and songwriters, at the Bearsville Theater on Sunday, November 9, at 7pm. The concert, which also includes performances by Sarah Fimm, Lindsey Webster, Donna Lewis and Lisa Green, is a benefit for Family of Woodstock’s Crisis Hotline and Walk-In Center.

(HUDSON, N.Y.) – Solo exhibitions of lithographs by Theodore Roszak and sculptures by Bruce Gagnier go on view at John Davis Gallery (362½ Warren St.) on Thursday, November 6, and will remain on view through November 30. There will be a reception for the shows on Saturday, November 15, from 6 to 8pm. Anne MacDougall, curator of the solo exhibition of lithographs from the estate of Theodore Roszak in the Main Galleries, will be in attendance.

RASPUTINA’S MELORA CREAGER in NOVEMBER RESIDENCY at HELSINKI HUDSON
(HUDSON, N.Y.) – Melora Creager, best known as founder and leader of the historical cello-rock band Rasputina, will be in residence at Club Helsinki Hudson on Mondays in November, in a series called “Mondays with Melora,” featuring her band the Calico Indians plus special guests. The dates are November 3, 10, 17 and 24, at 8pm. Creager, who sings and plays cello and banjo, will be accompanied by Chops LaConte on stand-up bass, Ryder Cooley on musical saw and vocals, and Luis Mojica on piano and vocals and Timothy Oakley on drums. Special guests will include singer-violinist Eszter Balint, Kiki * d, and Wild Boy with Clare Felice.
