(SHEFFIELD, Mass.) – Once again, the good folks at Magic Fluke, the Sheffield-based company that designs and manufactures a whole line of affordable, USA-made ukuleles – and the new Cricket violin – are offering the opportunity for contributors to the Rogovoy Report to be enrolled in a giveaway to win a free ukulele as a way to thank the community for its support of the Rogovoy Report’s curated e-newsletters and online stories it provides free to all.
For every $10 contribution made to the Rogovoy Report between now and May 1, 2015, participants will be enrolled in this thank-you giveaway program. Every $10 increment counts toward another chance to win, e.g., $40 = 4 chances to win; $80 = 8 chances to win. A contributor will be selected randomly at the end of the month to receive a solid color soprano Flea ukulele with beginner chord chart and songbook, for a total value of over $200! (Your choice of color: Amethyst, Sapphire, Citrine, Ukelyptus, Mango, Lava, Hibiscus Red, Black or Natural).
All contributions made to the Rogovoy Report between now and May 1, 2015, will count toward the thank-you giveaway. No other enrollment is necessary. As always, those who have set up recurring payments to the Rogovoy Report will be automatically enrolled in the giveaway — set up a recurring donation now to take advantage of more upcoming offers such as this one, including free dinners for two at the region’s finest restaurants and tickets to various spring and summer performing arts events.
To contribute, please go to the Rogovoy Report and click on the “Donate” button on the right-hand side.
Ukuleles are all the rage these days. Rock stars including Eddie Vedder, Amanda Palmer and the guy from pop-rock group Train all play them. Even the late George Harrison — perhaps the greatest rock guitarist of all time — loved the ukulele so much that in concert these days, Paul McCartney plays a song on uke in tribute to his former bandmate. If you’re not a prospective ukulele player yourself, these make great gift items for anyone musically inclined.
Like the Rogovoy Report itself, Magic Fluke is a homegrown, independently owned effort through and through. Despite unrelenting competition from imports, Magic Fluke has stuck to its original premise of providing USA-made, unique, affordable, high-quality instruments. Magic Fluke always strives to source components and materials as close to home as possible, including harvesting some of its own lumber. In keeping with the spirit of the Berkshires, Magic Fluke goes out of its way to support local businesses and the community. And look for the latest addition to Magic Fluke’s product line in May or June – a made-in-the-Berkshires solid-body short-scale electric bass!
