(PITTSFIELD, Mass.) – Fresh American, LLC, the newly formed umbrella corporation for the Pittsfield-based Pine Cone Hill, Dash & Albert Rug Company, and Annie Selke Home, has named Bob White chief operating officer and president.
White comes to Fresh American with more than twenty years’ experience in the home-furnishings industry, including associations with Marimekko, Clarence House, and Motif Designs. Most recently, he was an executive vice president of P/Kaufmann Inc., where he was responsible for managing the Ralph Lauren license. Annie Selke continues in her roles as chief executive officer and creative director of Fresh American.
Founded in 1994 by visionary designer Annie Selke, the 2010 Massachusetts Small Business Person of the Year, Pine Cone Hill creates fun, functional, inspired bedding, pajamas, robes, and more that put a vibrant contemporary spin on classic décor. Dash & Albert was established in 2003 and features a variety of durable, beautiful, and affordable rugs in classic stripes, original florals, and unique modern patterns. Annie Selke Home is a collection of richly patterned fabrics for custom home décor projects. Pine Cone Hill, Dash & Albert, and Annie Selke Home products are regularly featured in local and national magazines and are sold in more than 2,500 stores nationwide as well as online.
In late August 2011, Clarkson Potter released Selke’s first book, Fresh American Spaces, which takes a modern approach to five distinctly American styles of home decorating. Selke also recently launched FreshAmerican.com, a new design and lifestyle blog that offers a wealth of decorating ideas, shopping and entertaining tips, unusual inspirations, travel advice, and more.
