Call for Clothes for Earth Day Fashion Show and Clothing Swap

(PITTSFIELD, Mass.) – Alchemy Initiative is gearing up for its third annual Earth Day Fashion Show and Clothes Swap, to be held on April 20-21, 2012, and is putting out a community call for clothes, shoes, and accessories.

“The last two years our call for clothes brought in literally tons of used clothes. So let’s leave spring for playing and use the days we are stuck inside this winter for cleaning out our closets,” says Jess Conzo, director of Alchemy Initiative.

Donations should be in good, clean condition. Those pants that you just haven’t found the right shoes for; that shirt that was really never the right color; that dress that you can no longer squeeze into; those maternity clothes you look back on fondly; the boxes and bins of clothes your kids grew right out of … they want all of it.

There are three drop-off locations across the county:

?         North Berkshire: MCLA Gallery 51 (51 Main St., North Adams) seven days a week 10-5.

?         Mid Berkshire: Alchemy Initiative (40 Melville St., Pittsfield- the former Notre Dame church) Sundays 11-2 through the end of March.

?         South Berkshires: Railroad Street Youth Project (60 Bridge St., Great Barrington) Fridays 4-6 through the end of March.

Save the dates – April 20-21, 2012 – for the Fashion Show and Clothes Swap. More details on the event are forthcoming.
