TSL Celebrates First 40 Years with Anniversary Benefit

TSL 40(HUDSON, N.Y.) –Time & Space Limited Theatre Company, Inc., better known around town as TSL, is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year, which will be marked this Saturday, April 20, 2013, from 6:30pm to 9pm, with a benefit event, TSL: The First 40 Years.

By the time TSL moved to Hudson from New York City in 1991, the experimental theatre lab had been a going concern for nearly two decades. TSL first came to life in a borrowed loft in New York City in 1973. Creating and thinking about a new kind of theatre, the young director Linda Mussmann produced numerous avant-garde plays for three years on her own before teaming up with her muse, co-director, life partner and, since 2011, legal wife, Claudia Bruce.

In 1991, Mussmann and Bruce progressed upstream of Manhattan to Hudson, where they moved TSL into a circa 1929 brick warehouse in Hudson’s former factory district on the north side of town. Since that time, Mussman and Bruce, together with the community, have built TSL brick by brick, program by program, year by year.

This benefit is an important fundraising event for TSL. Individual ticket purchases ($40 each) and all “above & beyond” contributions and sponsorships help TSL continue to provide the exceptional and innovative programming for which it is known. [Note: TSL invites those, particularly those with families, who normally could not attend, call and participate in a sponsorship program for this event.
