I’m reading a new biography of a guy named Allan Sherman, to review for The Forward, so I will say more about Sherman and the book in my review.

But in the meantime I am very curious about the relative awareness of Sherman.

So tell me – how many of you have never heard of Allan Sherman or have no idea who he is?

How many of you have a vague awareness of him and what he is known for?

How many of you totally know who Allan Sherman is; in fact he could well be mishpokhe?

Please don’t look him up before answering this. THEN you can look him up. Or just wait for my follow-up piece.
