(HUDSON, N.Y.) – “Boat to Table,” an elegant, five-course wine-tasting dinner featuring the bounty of the sea selected and prepared by Executive Chef Hugh Horner, will take place in the ballroom at the Restaurant at Helsinki Hudson on Sunday, August 11, 2013, at 7pm. Horner will make his fresh seafood menu selections based on the catch of the day from the docks of Cape Cod, Mass.; Point Judith, R.I.; and Montauk, N.Y. Wines will be paired and introduced by Sherbrooke Cellars.

“Southern cooking is sometimes mistakenly thought of as meat-heavy,” says Horner, who grew up in Georgia, Louisiana, and North Carolina, where he learned to cook mostly in his grandmothers’ kitchens. “In fact, fish and seafood comprises a large part of the Southern menu, from shrimp to catfish to whatever is hopping out of the ocean.”

Tickets to the all-inclusive five-course dinner and wine-tasting are $100 per person. Seating is limited and advance reservations are recommended and required by calling Helsinki Hudson at 518.828.4800.
