(GREAT BARRINGTON, Mass.) – Minnesota-based string band Saint Anyway brings its unique “stomp-grass” sound to Castle Street Café on Saturday, October 5, 2013, at 7:30pm. Hailing from Duluth, Minn., the birthplace of Bob Dylan, Saint Anyway plays a hard-driving, hard-picking North Country bluegrass-inflected original roots music it calls “stomp-grass” that should appeal to fans of Mumford & Sons and the Lumineers.
In Saint Anyway, the trio of Tony Petersen, Jamie Kallestad, and Dane Levinski trade off verses, sing in three-part harmonies, and accompany themselves on banjo, bass, and guitar. The music implies a rock ‘n’ roll spirit in its dynamics, overarching melodies and energy. Admission is free.
