‘Uninhibited Piano’ by Paul Solovay

(SOUTH LEE, Mass.) – Inspiration of The Spirit, a group exhibition featuring works by twenty regional artists at the St. Francis Gallery, opens with a reception on Saturday, December 7, 2013, from 3 to 6pm. Among the artists included are such well-known regional favorites as Paul Graubard, Bruce MacDonald, and Paul Solovay, The show will continue into January 2014.

According to a gallery statement, “A good many of the artists represented feel the need to break free from imposed boundaries – whether these boundaries be outright imprisonment (some of the artist’s represented are currently incarcerated), personal struggles, physical limitations, or attempting to push the boundaries of creative expression.”

Artists represented in this show include Paul Solovay, Guy Beining, Sean McClusker, Denise Chandler, Rick Costello, Dimitri Freund, Bob Plant, Jean Germain, Paul Graubard, Bruce McDonald, Monica Miller, Anne Pasko, Phil Pryjma, Walter Pasko, Gail Downey, Jack Sadoway, Maureen Sutter, Sharon Vidal, Terry Wise and Linda Baker-Cimini.

The St. Francis is a new gallery that features an eclectic mix of both emerging and established local artists. The gallery, located in a former church, captures the spirit of art with its unique setting and wonderful energy. True to its namesake, the gallery supports the Sawa Sawa Foundation, which partners with energetic, creative Kenyans to improve the lives of their fellow countrymen, while establishing a working partnership with like-minded individuals in this community.
