Vocalist, lyricist, composer and educator Fay Victor has been hailed by the New York Times as “artistically complete” and by Time Out New York as “an accomplished vocal modernist” for her unique vocal approach to blues, jazz, free improvisation and her own material. With guitarist Anders Nilsson, the ExPosed Duo was born from an electrifying set at the Winter Nights Festival in Marseille in December 2007, when a packed house would not let them leave after four encores. In 2010, their first release, Bare, received rave reviews in the New York Times and Time Out New York. They continue to perform around New York City at venues such as the 55 Bar, the Brecht Forum, the Stone, Barbes and DROM.

Originally from Sweden, Anders Nilsson has been living and working in New York City since 2000. His diverse body of work is recognizable by his personal tone, versatility, command, and expressive, thoughtful musicality. He can be heard on over 30 albums. His composition credits include a growing book of works for ensembles, guitar, short films, dance, and theatre.

Victor and Nilsson will host a master class on vocal improvisation at the Ledig House at Omi (59 Letter S Road) on Sunday, December 8, from 11 to 2. Participants are encouraged to bring a song of their choice. The workshop fee is $65; with a maximum of 10 participants.
