Zach Deputy to Bring Original Pop-Soul to Club Helsinki Hudson

Zach Deputy(HUDSON, N.Y.) – Singer-songwriter Zach Deputy will bring his original pop-soul music to Club Helsinki Hudson on Sunday, January 26, 2014, at 8pm. Deputy, who calls his danceable sound “island-infused, drum ‘n’ bass, gospel-ninja-soul,” creates the sonic palette of a full band via the use of state-of-the-art looping technology created live and in real time.

The South Carolina-raised Deputy serves up a musical gumbo comprised of equal parts of his Puerto Rican, Cruzan and Irish heritage, as well as the Calypso rhythms and folk songs of St. Croix competed and the R&B/soul of pioneers like James Brown and Ray Charles, that vied for time on the family stereo. As Deputy honed his craft, a unique hybrid of these influences emerged, ultimately creating his signature sound, which should appeal to fans of Amos Lee, Jack Johnson, Martin Sexton, Taj Mahal and Stevie Wonder.

To bring his sound to the stage, the big, bearded, impossibly upbeat singer puts on a solo show  enhanced by looping technology that is essentially a one-man dance party. Over 1,000 shows in the past four years have made Zach Deputy one of the most in-demand performers on the grassroots festival circuit and a big hit on the national club circuit. Helsinki Hudson presents Zach Deputy as part of its commitment to new, emerging and rising artists.
