Melora Creager and Calico Indians Bring Eclectic Rock Mix to Helsinki Hudson

CALICO INDIANS(HUDSON, N.Y.) – Melora Creager and the Calico Indians – a supergroup of international and regional talents -bring their eclectic mix of hard rock, rockabilly, Gypsy-punk and roots music to Club Helsinki Hudson on Monday, June 2, at 8pm.

Multi-instrumentalist Melora Creager, who calls Hudson home, is best known as founder and leader of the historical cello-rock band Rasputina. She has played with Nirvana, Marilyn Manson, Bob Mould, Cheap Trick, Joan Osborne, Porno for Pyros, and others. Stand-up bassist Chops La Conté is a monster of rockabilly, having played with Wanda Jackson and the Stray Cats among others. Jack Terricloth is a pioneer of the popular gypsy-punk genre and the leader of internationally renowned cult band World/Inferno Friendship Society. In addition to being a fine artist and classical cellist, Daniel DeJesús is a core member of Rasputina. Drummer Jim Krewson is best known for his work with the roots-music group the Minivans.

Together, these varied musicians based in Columbia County are the Calico Indians, pooling their extensive musical resources to perform hard rock classics, Shakespeare sonnets set to music, and originals compositions from each member.
