Helsinki Hudson to Host Fashion Show/Auction to Benefit Animalkind

ANIMALKIND SIGN(HUDSON, N.Y.) – Over 20 local artists and designers are creating unique collections for Haute Cature, the annual fashion show and auction to benefit AnimalKind, Hudson’s cat rescue center, at Club Helsinki Hudson on Sunday, October 26, at 6pm. (Doors open at 5pm.) Steve Hartman from CBS News’s “On the Road” will be master of ceremonies for the event.

More than 25 models will stride the runway to display “Hudson Style” collections and garments ranging from original and designer clothes to vintage clothes and Halloween costumes. A number of collections will be curated by some of Hudson’s wonderful vintage clothing shops, including Five and Diamond, Discipline Park, and Antigo.

haute cature posterClothing from boutiques such as Kasuri will also be included, as well as one-of-a-kind costumes by artists including Bob and Monica Mechling. Some of the Cature collections will even be created using donated clothing.

Each and every garment is created with love and kindness by artists, designers and animal advocates of the Hudson Valley. All proceeds will benefit Animalkind, a nonprofit shelter and adoption center for cats in need of medical attention and homes.
