(HUDSON, N.Y.) – Brooklyn-based quartet Lip Talk and San Francisco rockers Yassou Benedict bring their respective approaches to dream-pop to Club Helsinki Hudson on Saturday, October 25, at 9pm. Lip Talk is led by Sarah Pedinotti Kyle (SPK) on keys, sampler, and lead vocals, with Chris Kyle on guitar, Derek Leslie on bass, and Ian Chang or Bryan Bisordi on drums. SPK’s vocal delivery has earned her apt comparisons to musical luminaries Bjork and Kate Bush, and the band’s unique blend of experimental psych-pop has found a home with fans of Braids, The Dirty Projectors, and Little Dragon.

Though they employ unconventional song structures and shifting time signatures, Yassou Benedict makes alluring, moody dream-pop. No one in the band is named Yassou Benedict.

Between the two groups, it promises to be an evening of shimmering textures and sultry sounds.

This double-bill reflects Club Helsinki Hudson’s commitment to featuring regional, emerging and rising artists.
