NEW EDITH WHARTON ONE-ACTS GET STAGING at THE MOUNT THANKSGIVING WEEKEND
(LENOX, Mass.) – Two new adaptations of Edith Wharton short stories, “The Long Run” and “The Rembrandt,” will receive a Thanksgiving Week run at The Mount from Wednesday, November 26, to Sunday, November 30, 2014. The program is a cooperative venture between the Wharton Salon and Pythagoras Theatre Works, in partnership with The Mount.
HOLIDELIC BRINGS 2-NIGHT HOLIDAY FUNK-TACULAR to HELSINKI HUDSON
(HUDSON, N.Y.) – Once again the holiday-funk spectacular Holidelic – the brainchild of Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter, producer, actor and dancer Everett Bradley – will usher in the holiday season at Club Helsinki Hudson on Friday and Saturday, November 28 and 29, at 9pm. Part dance party, part funk concert, part comedy show, the Yuletide-themed event features original holiday songs as well as loose, funk-infused adaptations of Tchaikovsky, “Frosty the Snowman,” “Little Drummer Boy” and the like.
CLARK ART EXHIBIT CONSIDERS MONET’S INFLUENCE on ELLSWORTH KELLY
(WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass.) – Monet | Kelly, the first exhibition to consider the influence of Impressionist painter Claude Monet on the works of leading contemporary American artist Ellsworth Kelly, is on view at the Clark Art Institute. The works in the exhibition were selected by Kelly and include two paintings and eighteen unpublished drawings by the artist, together with nine paintings by Monet from his Belle-Île series and of his garden in Giverny. The exhibition examines how both Monet’s motifs and the sites that inspired his paintings have shaped Kelly’s approach to his work. Monet | Kelly will be on view through February 15, 2015.
LEE BOROSON’S IMMERSIVE ‘LANDSCAPES’ TAKE OVER MASS MoCA’S MASSIVE GALLERY
(NORTH ADAMS, Mass.) – Plastic Fantastic, an exhibition of works by New York-based artist Lee Boroson featuring immersive installations that use inflatables, fabric, and light to create phenomenological experiences based on elemental forces in nature, is on view in MASS MoCA‘s largest gallery in Building 5.

(STOCKBRIDGE, Mass.) – Mort Künstler: The Art of Adventure, an exhibition that explores Mort Künstler’s vast and highly regarded body of work as an illustrator and historical painter, is on view at the Norman Rockwell Museum through March 8, 2015.
KINKS COFOUNDER DAVE DAVIES’S COLONIAL SHOW POSTPONED
(PITTSFIELD, Mass.) – Due to inclement weather, guitarist Dave Davies, who with his brother, Ray Davies, cofounded the incredibly influential English rock group the Kinks, will not perform at the Colonial Theatre tonight (Wednesday, November 26). The show will be rescheduled.
