(POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y.) – Tony and Grammy Award-winning composer Duncan Sheik returns to Powerhouse Theater at Vassar College with an Inside Look Workshop of his new musical, “Noir,” from Friday, July 31, through Sunday, August 2, 2015.

The final Musical Workshop of the season, “Noir” has music by Duncan Sheik (Spring Awakening, American Psycho), book by Kyle Jarrow (Whisper House, A Very Merry Unauthorized Children’s Scientology Pageant), and lyrics by Jarrow and Sheik.

Directed by Rachel Chavkin (Natasha, Pierre, and the Great Comet of 1812, Preludes), this lush and mysterious new musical, inspired by radio plays and classic film noir, is the story of a heartbroken man who never leaves his apartment, consoled only by the music on the radio. Through the thin walls, he hears almost every word of the couple next door and before long, his eavesdropping becomes an obsession. Soon he finds himself drawn into a web of lust, lies, deceit and danger.
Tickets for Noir are $30. All tickets may be purchased online at Powerhouse Theater at Vassar College or by calling the Box Office at (845) 437-5599. The Box Office is located in the Powerhouse Theater on the Vassar campus, 124 Raymond Avenue in Poughkeepsie.
