Mimi Lipson, Andrew Amelinckx, and Samantha Hunt to Read at Spotty Dog

(HUDSON, N.Y.) – Authors Mimi Lipson, Andrew Amelinckx, and Samantha Hunt will read from their works at Spotty Dog Books and Ale as part of the Volume Reading & Music Series on Saturday, January 9, at 7pm.

Samantha Hunt is the author of the new novel “Mr. Splitfoot,” as well as “The Invention of Everything Else,” a finalist for the Orange Prize and winner of the Bard Fiction Prize, and “The Seas,” awarded a National Book Foundation “5 Under 35.”

Andrew Amelinckx is an award-winning crime reporter, journalist and visual artist. “Gilded Age Murder & Mayhem in the Berkshires” is his first book. His next book, chronicling old-timey Hudson Valley murders, is set for 2017.

Mimi Lipson

Mimi Lipson

Mimi Lipson’s first book, a collection of stories named “The Cloud of Unknowing” after her favorite 14th-century Christian mystical tract, came out in 2014. She is currently at work on a memoir.

 

 

 

 

The readings will be followed by a set by DJ Joe Hagan.

 

The Volume Reading & Music Series featuring prose, poetry and ending with a short DJ set is hosted by Dani Grammerstorf French and Hallie Goodman, and takes place every second Saturday at Spotty Dog.
