Hudson Homegirls Featured in Spotty Dog Reading Series

(HUDSON, N.Y.) – Emerging female authors and poets Branda C. MaholtzShannekia McIntosh, Hallie Goodman, and Dani Grammestorf French, all of Hudson, will read from their works at Spotty Dog Books & Ale on Saturday, February 13, at 7pm, as part of Volume, the free monthly reading and music series every second Saturday of the month. The readings will be followed by a set by DJ Dan Bunny.

Branda C. Maholtz is an artist and writer in Hudson. Her poetry has appeared in Chronogram and online journals including nanomajority and 5_trope. She holds an MFA in creative writing from Syracuse University.

Shannekia McIntosh is a writer, curator and DJ. Born and raised in Brooklyn, and currently living in Hudson, McIntosh is the founder and publisher of the art and writing zine Zero Cool. Her work has been published in Dossier Journal and NYLON Magazine among others.

Hallie Goodman’s writing has appeared in Paper Magazine, Redbook Magazine, The Knot Magazine and Chronogram, and on Glamour.com, YahooShine.com and MSN.com to name a few. She is an MFA candidate in creative nonfiction at Vermont College of Fine Arts.

Dani Grammestorf French has an MFA in creative fiction from the New School and has been published in Playgirl and Broken Pencil. She is the co-founder of the long-running Guerrilla Lit Reading Series in NYC. Dani lives in Hudson, NY.
