RICHARD MARX BRINGS CHART-TOPPING POP-ROCK to the COLONIAL

(PITTSFIELD, Mass.) – Grammy Award-winning pop-rock singer, songwriter, and musician Richard Marx performs at the Colonial Theater on Friday, February 19, at 8pm. Marx’s eponymous debut went to number eight on the album charts and spawned four Top 5 singles, including the chart-topping “Hold on to the Nights,” with “Don’t Mean Nothing” earning him a Grammy nomination. The follow-up, “Repeat Offender,” was even more successful, hitting number-one on the album charts and going quadruple-platinum, with two number-one singles in “Satisfied” and “Right Here Waiting.” He now reigns as one of the kings of the “adult contemporary” music format.

(PITTSFIELD, Mass.) – Wintergreen, the longstanding regional folk trio featuring Alice and Larry Spatz and Jared Polens, brings its mixture of traditional and contemporary music from the British Isles and America along with their own compositions to Berkshire Museum on Saturday, February 20, at 1:30pm. Geared for children, the program – a presentation of Berkshire Music School – is designed to appeal to concertgoers of all ages. Wintergreen programs feature instrumentals based on dance tunes, intricate three-part vocal harmonies, and a wide variety of folk instruments.

Sharon Lips, ‘The Death of Film’

SOHN FINE ART FEATURES iPHONE PHOTOGRAPHY EXHIBIT

(LENOX, Mass.) – A large scale iPhone photography exhibition, iMotif, is being presented by Sohn Fine Art Gallery in collaboration with Hotel on North and Cultural Pittsfield’s 10X10 Upstreet Arts Festival. The exhibition features 75 artists and over 350 photographs, and is on view at two locations: Sohn Fine Art Gallery in Lenox (January 23 – March 21) with a reception on Saturday, February 20, 4-7pm; and at the Gallery at Hotel on North in Pittsfield (February 2 – March 2). Different work is exhibited at each location.
