(PITTSFIELD, Mass.) – Tony Award-winner Donna McKechnie kicks off the 2016 season at Mr. Finn’s Cabaret at Barrington Stage Company (BSC) with “Same Place: Another Time,” on Sunday, May 22, and Monday, May 23, at 8pm both nights.
Donna McKechnie, the Tony Award-winning star of “A Chorus Line,” is regarded internationally as one of Broadway’s foremost dancing and singing leading ladies. She returns to BSC in her new show, a musical déjà vu celebrating the scintillating 1970s in New York City – the heyday of Studio 54. She takes a personal spin on the “ingénue” coming to the city, finding love and success while losing her innocence, perhaps, but never her spirit.
McKechnie was featured in BSC’s starry revival of Stephen Sondheim’s “Follies” in 2005, garnering a rave from New York Times theater critic Ben Brantley.
Mr. Finn’s Cabaret celebrates its fifth season with an eclectic mix of performers from May through August. Named for William Finn, the two-time Tony Award-winning composer/lyricist of “Falsettos” and “The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee” and artistic producer of BSC’s Musical Theatre Lab.
Tickets to Donna McKechnie’s “Same Place: Another Time” are $52. All seating is reserved. The Box Office at Mr. Finn’s Cabaret opens 45 minutes prior to the performance. To purchase tickets or for more information, call the Barrington Stage Box Office at 413-236-8888 or visit Barrington Stage Company. Mr. Finn’s Cabaret is located on the lower level of the Sydelle and Lee Blatt Performing Arts Center, 36 Linden Street, Pittsfield.
